Dye Sublimation

Sublimation printing, also known as dye sublimation printing, is a popular printing method for transferring images onto suitable materials. Typical printing methods involve a step with water, where the solid turns to water before a gaseous state. Sublimation printing does not involve the liquid step but goes right from solid to gas due to a chemical reaction (like dry ice).

100% Polyester

Dye Sublimation works best on one hundred percent Polyester material or a mix of Polyester and another man made material such as Nylon. You can Sublimate onto fifty poly and fifty cotton but the design will be faded and have an aged look to it. For best result full Polyester is the way to go. This limits your ability to customize a lot of merchandise. But there are many items that can be sublimated on other than garments like mugs, cups, mouse pads, wood and many, many more items.

Sublimation Blanks

These are many of the items that can be used for Dye Sublimation. As you can see there are a lot of items that can be customized and not just garments. The Dye Sublimation process leaves a clear, crisp picture on those items that will not wash off, crack, peel or fade. Dye Sublimation on garments will never fade, rip, tear, wrinkle and crack or come off in the washer or dryer. The ink becomes a part of the fabric and has absolutely no feel to it. You can not tell it is there by touching or rubbing it.
